
To have sugar cravings is a torture , once we have them there is nothing to stop them as the brain work so hard to satisfy this desire. We need immediate sugar in any form.
It happens after a meal , or in a sunny day, or in any other weekend specially If we are surrounded by kids and family, I mean they happen all the time. We have to understand the root of this desire so we can work it out to reduce them or find ways we can replace them for something else more nutritious.
There are 4 reasons why we have Sugar Cravings these are the most common. Please If you have any other comment please let me know.

- WE DID NOT EAT ENOUGH OR WE DID NOT EAT HEALTHY FOOD ; When this happens the body try to find calories , fast calories to supply the need . The most common examples are chocolates, cakes, muffins ,bag of lollies, icecream or other empty calories. Why dont we take a piece of fruit ot carrot or a tomatoe?
In the past I used to cook with artificial sweetners , specially taking care of my sons needs with his Type 1 Diabetes, but I realised that I was not helping in any way instead we were putting artificial stuff in our bodies to supply the need of sugar. Artificial sweetener make the brain to think is sugar and the effect is temporal.
Some of the sweetners have been linked to kind of cancers and other conditions . Real calories are the one that provide the correct amount of energy in a real time. The consistency of the fruits, vegetables , wholemeal meals fill our body with long lasting sugars that remain in the blood stream so the body will feel happy for longer and no need to satisfy any craving.

- BECAUSE WE HAVE A BAD HABIT
Some of the most common habits are eating the nails, or the skin next to the nails, touch the hair any time etc.
Have you ever realised you have this habits?
When we dont eat enough breakfast or any other meal, we go to the fridge and eat anything that is available, because it is more practical , but what if we eat more consistently , breakfast, mid morning , lunch, afternoon tea and dinner, routines, eating healthy meals , sitting down and being consciously of what we put in our body , we know how much calories , the defenses in the body are higher and is easier to change the habit.
HOW TO STOP THIS HABIT?
Drink a cup of tea after each meal , this generate relaxation and consciousness about food , keep you warm and nurture and you wont need to fill your stomach with empty calories for the sake of having sugars.
You can have a sweet tea like vanilla, pear, apple, almonds, etc no artificial , no sweetners ok?
YOU HAVE BEEN EATING STARCHY FOODS AND NOT ENOUGH PROTEINS AND FATS.

A good example is when we eat a big plate of pasta , we can garantie that we follow with a good dessert . Usually pasta does not have fiber and it is not easy to digest , the levels of supars will be so high that the feeling of tireness and being hungry again are unstoppable.
HOW TO STOP THIS?
I dont want to say that we have to stop eating pasta, but I would like you to be more conscious of the portion in your plate, wholemeal pasta if is possible , contains more fibre , add quality protein as if you are vegetarian, vegan or simply white protein.
EXCESS OF SALTY FOOD
When we eat outside , or we eat fast food or food in bags like chips and etc , this type of food contain so much salt that we inmmediately want to have something sweet to compensate the salty taste.
HOW CAN WE STOP THIS?

Try to eat less process food and more and more fresh, raw, no in packs , protein in form of vegetables like lentils,beans, quinoa, chia, fruits, wholemeal breads, pasta, rice in this way your brain , blood stream will be in good levels and you will fell less need of having sweets. Sit down , focus in your meal , in the amount of good nutrients you are bringing into your body to enahance the best of you.
Every little thing you do for your health , your body , your brain, your heart , you are cultivating the best of yourselve and spread it to the whole family and to the world.
